About Artist Chen Danqing:

Chen Danqing was born in Shanghai in 1953, from 1970 to 1978 he was dispatched to countryside in southern Jiangxi and northern Jiangsu for rural labor exercising, during this term he self-studies painting.

In 1978 he was admitted to enter the oil painting department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts as the first postgraduate class after the Cultural Revolution in China; In 1980 after graduation he stayed in the school and acted as a teacher at the first studio of the oil painting department.

As early as 1980, Chen Danqing was become famous at home and abroad with his oil painting work “Tibet Group Paintings”, and become top ones in the Chinese oil painting artists. In early 80’s Chen Danqing was been taken for the most talented oil painting artist in China, and even until today, there are still exists a type of “Chen Danqing Complex” in Chinese Artists.

In 1982, Chen Danqing moved to New York as a free artist, and returned China in 2000 and accepted an invitation as a special appointed professor in the Tsinghua University, and acted as an appointed professor and PhD supervisor at the Fine Arts Academy at Tsinghua University, at the same time took charge of “Chen Danqing Studio”. In 2004 Chen Danqing resigned the duty of Professor at Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts.

About Artist Jin Shangyi:

 Mr.Jin Shangyi, one of representatives of China’s contemporary oil painting artists, who was born in December 1934 in Jiaozuo, Henan province, China. In 1953 graduated from the Painting Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and continued his post-graduate study, In 1955 Jin Shangyi went to Soviet and entered into the oil painting training class held by the former Soviet Union artist Maksimov to learn oil painting.

Now Jin Shangyi is acted as Chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, and professor of Central Academy of Fine Arts. Former president of Central Academy of Fine Arts and enjoy special government allowances.

Jin Shangyi had taken charge of the teaching job at the first oil painting studio in the Central Academy of Fine Arts, whose artistic practice and art ideas, has influenced much on a large number of oil painting artists and caused a hot trend of absorbing nutrition from classicism in China since the mid-80’s.

Art Career:

Jin Shangyi oil painting creations was take the historical themes of Chinese revolution as a starting point, during the nearly 20 years of before the reform and opening-up, he has created a large number of historical themed oil paintings, such as “Step on the Muztag Ata”, “December Conference”, “Long March” and so on, these works fully demonstrated the art talent of the artist, and people become familiar with Jin Shangyi. But in terms of Jin Shangyi, the creative practice of history paintings is just one of important links which urged him to begin his creation of portrait painting.

In the process of painting history oil paintings, Jin Shangyi gradually found the most interested things are those figures per se who showed unique vitality and personality, which make his thinking about the history of switched to the explore of the life and the human’s spiritual world. He inclined much and much to use simple compositions, as little as possible figures to reflect the broad social life, gradually this type of natural development sense become clearer and clearer, and ultimately he aimed to portrait painting as his main creative direction.

Mr. Hu RenQiao (1941 -2003), born is Chengdu, Sichuan province. National first-class Artist, member of Chinese Artists Association, specializes in oil paintings, watercolors.

In 1961 Hu Renqiao graduated from the affiliated school of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. In 1965 graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts and get a bachelor degree.

In 1965 -1972 Hu Renqiao worked in Xinjiang Mulei County Museum.

In 1972 -1980 worked as a fine arts cadre in the Ministry of Railways of China, Chengdu Railway Branch.

In 1980 -2003 acted as professional full-time artist in Chengdu painting institute, and acted as director of creative research department.

Artistic Creation Career of Hu Renqiao:

Artworks of Mr. Hu Renqiao had been selected to take part in international exhibitions for 9 times, 50 pieces works were been selected to attend National Art Exhibition 15 times, had won National Awards for 2 times, Sichuan Province Awards 14 times. There are more than 40 piece of oil painting works of Hu Renqiao had been published on art publications at home and abroad, and some of them were collected by fine arts lovers at home and abroad.

In 1963, oil painting “Spring Message”, “Hometown Water” were selected “The first painting exhibition in Sichuan Province”, “Spring Inquiry” in the “Gallery of Sichuan” center color pages published.

In 1964, oil painting “Rural Postman” was admitted to attend the South-West Area Artworks Exhibition held by the National Art Association in Beijing.

In 1982, oil painting “Cedar”, “Prairie in July”, “Mother Earth” was admitted to participate in the Oil Painting Works from Sichuan Province to Shenzhen Exhibition, among which, oil painting “Mother Earth” was published on the third issue in 1983 of “Guangzhou Pictorial”; “Cedar” was published on “Gallery” in Guangdong, “Prairie in July” was published on the cover of Shenzhen “Special-Zone Literature” (fourth issue, 1982).

In 1983, Watercolor painting “Under the Pearl Beach” was admitted to participate the “Chinese Water Color Exhibition” held in Kuwait.

In 1984 watercolor “Night Rain” was selected to attend “The Sixth National Art Exhibition”, and was full-page published on the third cover of “Gallery” (Sixth issue, 1988 ) .

In 1984, oil painting “Mother Earth”, “Autumn in Mountains”, “Spring” were admitted in “Sichuan Oil Paintings Go to Hong Kong Exhibition”, among which, Oil Painting “Mother Earth” was published in Hong Kong “Artists” (the 34th Issue).

In 1985, oil painting “On the Horizontal Line” won the third prize of “Fine Arts Exhibition of China’s Sports”, and this oil painting work now was collected by Chinese Olympic Committee.

The most outstanding feature of Ai-Xuan’s art style is expressing emotions via drawing sceneries…He painted sceneries and lonely figures on the Tibetan Plateau, whose mainly purpose is to express her feelings in her inner world. Therefore, Ai-Xuan’s oil painting works are not so much as Tibetan scenery oil paintings, but rather as his inner monologue.

In these oil paintings, there are silhouettes of Ai-Xuan. Silent silence and quiet thinking, nameless loneliness infiltrated in figures and whole picture moods of his oil paintings. Looked at the grassland, snow field and wasteland lonely, they lived in a world which integrated with the nature.

Another art feature of Ai-Xuan’s art style is he combined the lyric loneliness with a little mystery skillfully and wonderful. In 1969 he graduated from the affiliated school to the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1969 he was been dispatched to Zhangjiakou for a four-year farm labor.

 Had attended the first due of national oil painting exhibition held by China Fine Art Museum, “93 years of Chinese Annual Exhibition of Oil Painting” and achieved the silver medal, attended “Chinese Oil Painting Biennale” and achieved nominated award, attended the “China Modern Art Exhibition” in the United States and so on.

Oil painting work “Sister-in-Law in Mine” was selected to attend “The Sixth National Art Exhibition” and won an Outstanding Award, and now collected by the National Art Museum of China.
