About Artist Zao Wou-ki:

Zao Wu-ji (French name Zao Wou-ki) was born in 1921 in Beijing, China.

In 1935 entered into the Hangzhou National College of Art and under the tulelage of famous artist Lin Fengmian;

In 1941 held his first individual art exhibition in Chongqing city;

In 1942, together with Lin Feng-mian, Guan Liang, Ting Yin-yung, Li Zhongsheng, NI Yide he held a united exhibition in Chongqing Museum of Natural History;

In 1947 held his second individual exhibition in Shanghai;

In 1948, Zao Wou-ki emigrated to France and studied at the Big Hut Academy of Fine Arts.

In 1949 held his third individual art exhibition in Paris;

In 1950 he began to take part in the “March Salon” exhibition year after year, and till 80s;

Since 50s, Zao Wou-ki began to hold his individual exhibitions in Paris and New York in cooperation with some famous art galleries;

In 1956 the first series of “Catalogue of Lithographs by Zao Wou-ki” published;

Since 70s, Zao Wou-ki has become one of the most outstanding Chinese artists in Paris, and has gained great reputations in the world’s art community; his artworks have been collected by some wellknown museums in the world; and has published dozens of Album of Paintings by Zao Wou-ki ;

In 1998-1999, Paintings by Zao Wou-ki Retrospective Exhibition was held in Shanghai Museum and China Art Gallery.

In 1980 graduated from Handan School for Children of Railway Workers;In 1983 graduated at the Ceramic Fine Arts Department at Hebei School ofLight Industry;In 1989 graduated at the Print Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts; In 2004 was employed as a visiting professor by the Fine Arts Institute at Jilin Art Academy

In 1999 was employed as a professor at the Sculpture Art Institute of Nanjing University; In 2002 acted as a professor at the Fine Arts Institute of Nanjing University.

Ding Fang is an important representative of “85 New Trend Fine Arts”, who was selected to participate the “China Modern Art Show” in 1989 and other significant art activities.

In daily life Ding Fang is also a very sincere person. It is said that even on a card game which is simply for passing time, Ding Fang will never forgive a mistaken card played by others easily. Artist Su Tian-ci is famous in the world with his oil painting art, his oil painting works were selected to participate national art shows on each dues from 60s on, and oil painting work “Early Spring” had won the bronze prize at the 7th National Art Show; In 1987, “Su Tian-ci Oil Painting Art Show” was held in Paris International Art City, and several oil painting works were selected to attend art shows held in Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and so on.

About Artist Zhang Wan-chuan:

Mr. Zhang Wanchun(1909-2003), who was born in Danshui town, Taipei city, had been lived in Keelung, and later removed back to Dadaocheng, Taipei.

In 1924, Zhang Wanchuan entered in “Taiwan Free Institute of Western Paintings”, and began to studies gypsum sketch and watercolor with Ishikawa Kinichiro.

In 1924, Zhang Wanchuan acceded to “Taiwan Watercolor Institute”, and become confrere with Artist Ni Jiianghuai, Chen Yingsheng, Lan Yinding, Li Zhepan, Li Shiqiao, Hong Ruilin and so on.

In 1929, Zhang Wanchuan went to Japan with Hong Ruilin and Chen Dewang, and entered in “Tokyo Private Kawabata Paintings School” and “Locate Paintings Institute” to study western oil paintings.

After back to Taiwan, Zhang Wanchuan was acceded to “Taiyang Association of Fine Arts”, and founded “Action Association of Fine Arts” with his artist friends, and his oil painting works had been selected to participate in the special art show held by the government.
