About Artist Zhang Wan-chuan:

Mr. Zhang Wanchun(1909-2003), who was born in Danshui town, Taipei city, had been lived in Keelung, and later removed back to Dadaocheng, Taipei.

In 1924, Zhang Wanchuan entered in “Taiwan Free Institute of Western Paintings”, and began to studies gypsum sketch and watercolor with Ishikawa Kinichiro.

In 1924, Zhang Wanchuan acceded to “Taiwan Watercolor Institute”, and become confrere with Artist Ni Jiianghuai, Chen Yingsheng, Lan Yinding, Li Zhepan, Li Shiqiao, Hong Ruilin and so on.

In 1929, Zhang Wanchuan went to Japan with Hong Ruilin and Chen Dewang, and entered in “Tokyo Private Kawabata Paintings School” and “Locate Paintings Institute” to study western oil paintings.

After back to Taiwan, Zhang Wanchuan was acceded to “Taiyang Association of Fine Arts”, and founded “Action Association of Fine Arts” with his artist friends, and his oil painting works had been selected to participate in the special art show held by the government.

Famous oil painting artist, art educationist Feng Fasi died on June 16, 2009 in Beijing for an outburst massive heart attack, die at the age of 95, the farewell ceremony will be held on the morning of 22 June at Beijing Babaoshan Funeral Home.

About Artist Feng Fasi:

Feng Fasi, alias “Luo Feng”, was born in 1914, comes from Lujiang city, Anhui province. Now he is member of Chinese Artists Association, consultant of China Oil Painting Academy, honorary president of Xu Beihong Seminar of International Art, chief advisor of Xu Beihong Art Institute.

In 1933 Feng Fasi was admitted to enter the Art Department of Education Institute at Nanjing Central University, and study painting art with Masters Xu Beihong, Yan Wenliang, Lv sibai and Pan Liangyu and so on.

In 1937 Feng Fasi was graduated from the Central University and got a bachelor degree, at that time the anti-Japanese war broke out, Feng Fasi took part in the Chinese Worker’s and Peasants’ Red Army ?later was adapted into the Eight Route Army?, he had been to Yan’An, the holy land of the revolution, later he transferred to Wuchang Sichuan College of Art in Jiangjin county Sichuan province and acted a teacher.

In 1940 Feng Fasi attended in histrionic team of anti-enemy, and began to engaged in oil painting creation work, Among the term of the War of Resistance, Feng Fasi had held his individual exhibitions of oil painting for six times, his patriotism works had received praises of people of all ranks.

In 1942 Feng Fasi was employed as a vice-researcher at China Academy of Fine Arts

In 1943 Feng Fasi was employed as a vice-professor of National Academy ofSocial Education

In 1946 Feng Fasi went to Beiping along with Mr. Xu Beihong, to take part in the Foundation of Beiping National College of Art

In 1950, after the set up of the Central Academy of Fine Arts finished, Feng Fasi was employed as a professor, first director of the painting department as well as director of the oil painting department.

Mr. Feng Fasi’s lifetime works, was followed the art idea of “” all the time,which was established in his youth ages;

During in the 50s of 20th Century, Feng Fasi created his huge size oil painting work “Liu Hulan Die a Heroic Death” and a series of realism oil painting works.

In 1961 was transferred to work as a basic teacher in the Stage Fine Arts Department at the Central Academy of Drama. .

In 1979, Mr.Feng Fasi was returned to work in the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and reacted as director of the oil painting department, during that term, Feng Fasi had created a large number of oil painting works to represent lifes in the new time.

In 1980, Central Academy of Fine Arts held “Feng Fasi Professor Art Show”, published “Feng Fasi Paintings Collection”

In 1983 held ”Feng Fasi Professor Art Show” in Haerbin city.

In 1984 Feng Fasi held his individual art show in Paris.

In 1998 held ”The 65th Anniversary of Been Engaged in Art – Exhibition of Professor Feng Fasi Paintings, which as well as held the ceremony to release the publication of his large-scale Album of paintings.

In 1999, Mr. Feng Fasi was been invited to Canada to held Exhibition of Professor Feng Fasi Sketch and Partial Oil Painting Works”
