Ye Jianqing is adept at expressing traditional Chinese painting themes and spirit with Western oil painting techniques. Perhaps it is because he had studied Chinese painting in his early years, so his oil painting works has distinctive personal art style, the same time were all be marked with traditional Chinese culture impressions.

Over the years, Ye Jianqing appeared to attempt to redefine the contemporary Chinese art. On one hand, he applied contemporary art concepts and techniques to traditional Chinese painting, on the other hand, he try his best to avoid the Chinese contemporary art contained inflammatory images of “political pop” flavor, which was cater to the taste of Western viewers. The art world in his brush, were showing a kind of dream-like aesthetic scene that rare on other contemporary Chinese artists, and attracted speculative.

About Artist Ye Jianqing:

Mr. Ye Jianqing, was born in 1972 in Zhejiang province, China, who was studied studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts from 1994 and has got a  Ph.D., now Ye Jianqing is act as a teacher at the Wall Painting Department in the academy.

Oil painting works of Ye Jianqing have won awards for many times, and were be exhibited on various art shows at home and abroad, among them includes the “Ye Jianqing Artworks Exhibition” held by Singapore iPreciation Gallery in 2004 and 2005, and “China’s Emerging – Ye Jianqing Works Exhibition” held in Hong Kong in 2007, and in the same year, his oil painting works were participated in the Beijing International Art Biennale Show and were been well received, Ye Jianqing is known as one of ” the most promising young Chinese contemporary artists”.

Art Career:

In 1996, sketch painting “Women Body with Bicycle Background” participated in Central Academy of Fine Arts Sketch Works Show held in Spanish.

In 1996, oil painting “Travelling” won the second price at Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Show

In 1997, oil painting “No Title” won the second prize at Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Show

In 1998, oil painting “Immigrant Trend” won the first prize at Central Academy of Fine Arts Graduated Works Show, the first prize of Gangsong Family Art Fund.

In 1999, “Ye Jianqing Painting Show” held by Central Academy of Fine Arts

In 1999-2001, studied at the post-graduate Class in the Wall Painting Department at Central Academy of Fine Arts

In 2000-2001, participated in “Journey in the Chinese Western Areas” Art Research  

In 2001, two oil painting works participated in “Culture Come from China” Art Show held in Sydney, Australia.

In 2002, oil painting “Satellite Launching Center” and wall painting “Western Areas, The West”, “Silk Road Adversaria” participated in “Walking into the Big Northwest” Art Show held by Chinese Art Gallery.

In 2003, acted as a teacher at the Wall Painting Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

In 2003-2004, studied at High-Grade Research Class of Oil Painting at he Wall Painting Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts

In 2004, “Ye Jianqing Painting Show” held in Singapore.

In 2004, studied at Doctor Class of Sculpting Oil Painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts

In 2005, oil painting work “ – Pedigree Study” participated in Beijing International Fine Arts Biennial Show.
